Steven Clark's review of Black Label Beans pre-ground have a very good aroma. The medium sized beans predominate punctuated by small beans and peaberries. The first sips from Autodrip had good body and an almost earthy fullness. Slurping revealed some citrus tones that almost bordered on peppery. As the cup cooled some sweet shades started to come. As the cup cooled the sweetness got more pronounced. As a drip coffee this is perfect for those who want to sip their coffee luxuriously like a fine Belgian beer, while attending to other tasks to come back from time to time to re-experience how the coffee tastes as its temperature changes. In a press-pot this coffee has more earthy fullness and body. Again, as the coffee cools a gentle sweetness comes forward. Sugar and cream bring forward some nice cocoa tones. Body persists well through sugar and half and half, so do the spicy tones. Shot - as it was pulled the aroma was sweet and earthy, the crema was excellent the body good. The shot had a very pleasant piquant almost tang that combined with the earthy cocoa after tones for a very pleasant aftertaste that made one reluctant to spoil it by putting anything else in your mouth.
